SixDegrees.org is a public 501(c)(3) nonprofit founded by actor, musician, and philanthropist Kevin Bacon. We exist to fight disconnection, the silent force eroding our communities. Through storytelling, community-first campaigns, and resource-sharing, SixDegrees.org empowers nonprofits, companies, and individuals to expand their impact, proving service is the antidote to disconnection. 2. How is SixDegrees.org different from a private foundation?

SixDegrees.org is a public charity, not a private foundation. As a public 501(c)(3), we rely on donations from the general public and partner organizations to fund our programs and initiatives. We operate transparently and work closely with other nonprofits and community organizations to maximize our collective impact. We do not provide monetary grants to other 501(c)(3) nonprofits as part of our regular programming.

4. What types of nonprofits does SixDegrees.org partner with?

We collaborate with grassroots 501(c)(3) nonprofits that align with our mission and whose work falls under one of our core pillars. We call these organizations our Network Partners. We prioritize partnerships with organizations that have less than $3 million in revenue, ensuring that our support has a significant impact where it’s needed most. Please note that we do not partner with organizations whose primary nonprofit programming work is based internationally.

5. Does SixDegrees.org provide financial support to individuals?

No, SixDegrees.org does not fulfill individual requests for financial support. Our focus is on partnering with nonprofit organizations that align with our mission and core pillars. We also do not take solicitations for sponsorships or grants, as we are not a granting organization.

6. Can I request for Kevin Bacon to record a video or attend an event?

While we greatly appreciate the enthusiasm for our founder, Kevin Bacon, we are unable to fulfill individual requests for him to record videos, attend events, or make personal appearances. Our focus is on maximizing the impact of SixDegrees.org’s mission-driven work.

11. Can I suggest a nonprofit for a partnership with SixDegrees.org?

We are always open to learning about new organizations that align with our mission. While we do not partner with organizations focused primarily on international work, we welcome suggestions for U.S.-based nonprofits that align with our pillar areas and have less than $3 million in revenue.

12. How are Network Partners selected?

We have basic eligibility requirements as followed. In addition to mission alignment and impact potential, organizations must meet the following foundational criteria to be considered as a SixDegrees network partner:

Budget Size
We prioritize grassroots nonprofits with annual operating budgets under $3 million.

Organizational History
Organizations must have been in existence for a minimum of three full years. This ensures leadership stability and demonstrated program consistency.

Financial Standing
Organizations must be in good financial standing, with transparent and compliant IRS Form 990 filings for the past three years.

Geographic Focus
The majority of the organization’s programming and impact must take place within the United States.

Meeting these baseline criteria does not guarantee selection, but ensures we are able to responsibly evaluate partnership opportunities within our capacity and mission focus.
